Allergy Partners Lawsuit – Data Breach of Medical Information

Consumer Protection Attorneys in California

On February 23, 2021, Allergy Partners identified unusual network activity. They immediately took steps to secure the network and began an investigation with the assistance of a computer forensic firm.

The investigation determined that an unauthorized person gained access to the Allergy Partners network between January 12, 2021 and February 23, 2021 and, during that time, deployed malware and acquired copies of some of the documents on our systems.

Over the past several months, Allergy Partners have been working diligently to complete an extensive review of the documents involved; they received the final results on October 1, 2021. The review determined that one or more files reflected your name, Social Security number, and/or driver’s license number.

Notification letters started to be sent to all affected patients.

While identity thieves are becoming more sophisticated at breaking through the data protection of businesses, it is the company’s responsibility to provide the highest level of security for their consumers. This is especially true when medical information is involved. Medical information of the type lost here, is given special protection under California law.
