Chris Carson

Ms. Carson received a B.A. in English Literature from California State University, Bakersfield. Prior to going to law school she worked as newspaper reporter in Kern County, where she reported on city government and law enforcement. Ms. Carson graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law, where she was an associate editor of the Law Review. While in law school, Ms. Carson published Lords of the Manor: Fighting California Slumlords with Private Multi-Plaintiff Implied Warranty of Habitability Litigation, in The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice.

Ms. Carson joined Potter Handy in 2011. She has aided in the litigation of hundreds of Americans with Disability Actcivil rights cases, appearing at all manner of motion hearings and mediations in state and federal court. She has managed the firm’s discovery team, drafted and won numerous Motions for Summary Judgment, and is presently responsible for preparing cases for trial. Ms. Carson also works on the firm’s Consumer Rights and class action litigation.

Ms. Carson is admitted to the California State Bar, the United States District Court – Southern, Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of California and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
